Terms of Use
Effective date: July 28, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ZenTaxes website at zen-taxes.onrender.com and any client accounts we make available to you (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by MYeCFO, LLC (“MYeCFO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a California limited liability company. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ZenTaxes is MYeCFO's tax preparation software and service. Through it, MYeCFO prepares, reviews, and electronically files federal and California individual income tax returns for its clients. The website provides information about the product and a way to contact us; client-facing features (such as reviewing a prepared return or signing e-file authorization forms) are available to engaged clients through authenticated accounts.
2. Engagement Required for Tax Services
Browsing this website does not create a client relationship with MYeCFO. Tax preparation, filing, and advisory services are provided only under a separate engagement between you and MYeCFO, and that engagement's terms control those services. Content on this website is general information, not tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice for your specific situation.
3. Accounts
If we issue you account credentials, you are responsible for keeping them confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at advisors@myecfo.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend accounts to protect the Service or your data.
4. Your Information
When you provide information for tax preparation, you agree that it is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. You remain responsible for reviewing your return before it is filed and for the accuracy of the information on it. Use the secure document-upload or client-account methods we provide for tax documents and sensitive information; please do not send SSNs, bank credentials, or full tax documents through email or the public contact form unless we specifically instruct you to. Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. E-File Authorization
We will not electronically file a return until the required federal and state e-file authorization forms (such as IRS Form 8879 and California Form FTB 8453/8879 equivalents) or approved electronic signatures are completed. You are responsible for reviewing the return, including refund or payment information, before authorizing transmission. Once a return is transmitted and accepted by a tax agency, it cannot be recalled; corrections require an amended return.
6. Acceptable Use
- Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Do not attempt to probe, scan, or breach the security of the Service, access data that is not yours, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Do not misrepresent your identity or submit information you are not authorized to provide.
- Do not copy, scrape, or reproduce the Service or its content except as these Terms allow.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the ZenTaxes name, logo, software, and website content, is owned by MYeCFO, LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services (for example, secure document storage or government e-file systems). Those services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
9. Disclaimers
The public website is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, MYeCFO disclaims all warranties with respect to the public website, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. These disclaimers apply to public website content and platform availability — not to professional tax services performed under a signed engagement.
10. Professional Duties Not Limited
Nothing in these Terms limits duties imposed on MYeCFO by tax-preparer rules, IRS or state e-file program requirements, professional standards, privacy laws, or a signed engagement agreement. Obligations that cannot be waived or excluded under applicable law are not waived or excluded by these Terms.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MYeCFO will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the public website. Liability for professional tax services is addressed in the applicable engagement agreement, not this section. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify MYeCFO against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service, except to the extent caused by our own breach or misconduct.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance going forward. Changes to these Terms do not retroactively modify a signed engagement agreement and do not authorize any use or disclosure of tax return information that requires a separate taxpayer consent under federal law.
